メンバーの江口海里が新作ソファを発表しました。

Kairi of the member announced the latest sofa.

現在のコンピュータシステムの原理となっているジャカード織り機を発明した偉大なジョセフ・マリー・ジャカール博士に対する敬意をソファで表現。生地の特性である裏表でネガポジが反転する事を利用し、ソファのマチやクッションにリズムを与えている。サイドテーブルには、博士が若き日に父親から砕石場とブドウ畑を譲り受けた事にちなんで石の器とワインのセットを添えて。

The representation of this couch is my respect for the great Dr. Joseph Marie’s invention, the Jacquard loom, which is the principle of the current computer system.
The characteristic of the fabric allows me to take advantage to reverse negative-positively at both side. By doing so, it creates rhythm to the sofa’s gussets and cushions.As for the side table, the stone and wine set was added in honor of Dr. Joseph Marie’s acceptance of quarry and vineyard from his father when he was young.

茶屋町にて建築模型の照明のインスタレーションを行いました。

We performed installation of the illumination of the building model in Chayamachi Osaka .

MIMIC – SHELF – SALONE SATELLITE 2012 [MILAN / ITALY]

シェルフは空間において様々な役割をします。より多くのレイアウトを可能にする為に自立する為の脚部を持ち、空間に調和する為の棚板を装着できます。棚に乗せる物に応じて高さと棚板の素材を変えられます。空間に擬態化する為の棚であり、使う人の意図によっては強調した棚にする事もできます。日本に古くからある「組み木」の仕組みを応用し、大きな棚受けや固定具を使わずに強度と安定性を増しています。脚部の無駄な装飾を省く事でより棚板の素材を感じられるデザインです。

Shelf can have a great deal of functionality depending on the place where it used. In order to correspond with numerous layout settings, MIMIC can be easily installed with use of its independent legs in combination with a replaceable plate, seamlessly harmonizing with the surroundings. The height of the shelf and the material of the plate are changeable according to the objects that are placed on it. Hence, the shelf ‘s mimicry of the surroundings and the intention of the user can be highlighted through MIMIC.Moreover, by applying the mechanism of the traditional Japanese Kumiki, it increases the strength and stability of the shelf without the use of a large sized fixed apparatus. Hence one can fully enjoy the beauty of the plate’s material design through the elimination of unnecessary decoration of the shelf legs.

STRATA – VESSEL – SALONE SATELLITE 2012 [MILAN / ITALY]

器はテーブルを鮮やかに彩ります。この器は地層のように高さによって表情が変わっていきます。表情が移り変わる様はそれだけを見ていても心を満たしますが、空間においてそのフォーマットに適用される素材は大きな要素となります。テーブルの上で器を並べた時に美しく見えるように、外形は六角形のモジュールになっています。空間に合わせる、あるいは器にいれる物に合わせて様々な素材を選ぶことができます。

Vessel adds vivid colours to the table. With a look similar to the stratum, STRATA changes its expression depending on height. Although by looking at the various expressions satisfies the mind, but as a form that interacts with its space, the use of material becomes extremely important.In order to make it look attractive on the table, a hexagonal form was chosen. One can decide between a variety of materials according to the space or the items that will be put into the vessel.

西梅田にてロールスクリーンを使用したインスタレーションを行いました。夜の世界がキャンドルによって浮かび上がります。

We performed installation using the roll screen in Nishiumeda. The night world rises by a candle.

I suggested cradle “Finestra” which created borderlessness, and Kairi Eguchi  won a gold prize in LG mobile design competition 2011.

瀬戸内海に浮かぶ島「犬島(岡山県)」にて犬島キャンドルナイトを開催しました。そこにインスタレーションを展示しました。

I held the Inujima candle night in island “Inujima” (Okayama) that floated at the SetoNaikai Sea. I exhibited a installation there.

Dominik participates in “exhibition U-30 of the building by seven sets of young architects 30 years or younger”.
